Are children invited to the wedding and post-wedding party?
Both the wedding on 28 August and the post-wedding day party on the 30 August will be adults only. If you require childcare, our concierge team will be delighted to assist with arranging babysitters.
Can I bring a plus one?
If a plus one has been included for you, it will be clearly indicated on your invitation. As our guest list is curated and numbers are limited, we kindly ask that you refer to your invitation.
What is the dress code for the wedding day?
As this is a summer wedding, with private air-conditioned transfers departing the Divani Apollon Palace from around 3.30pm to the church, we encourage guests to choose lighter and breathable fabrics for comfort. The church will be fully air-conditioned, and the evening celebration will begin at 7pm when the temperature naturally cools.
We kindly ask gentlemen to wear smart summer suits and ladies to wear long dresses or gowns. We respectfully request that women avoid white or similar tones, as these are reserved for the bride, and to avoid black, as this colour is reserved for the bridesmaids.
What is the dress code for the Sunday post-celebration party?
The Sunday celebration will be an outdoor daytime White Party. We ask all guests to dress in white. More details will follow shortly.
When should we plan to arrive and depart?
We understand most guests will arrive on Thursday 26 August and depart on Monday 31 August, either returning home, continuing on to the Greek islands or remaining on the Athens Riviera.
We would not recommend arriving on the morning of Friday 28 August, as the wedding day will be full of events from early afternoon until late evening. Arriving a day or two earlier will allow you to settle in and enjoy the surroundings.
How will we get to the church and the reception venue?
Private air-conditioned transfers will be arranged from the Divani Apollon Palace to the church, and from the church to Lake Vouliagmeni, where the Sofreh Aghd and celebration will take place.
Lake Vouliagmeni is approximately a five to seven minute taxi ride from the recommended hotels for your return at the end of the evening.
What is planned for Saturday 29 August?
Saturday has been left intentionally free for you to enjoy at your leisure. You may wish to:
• Allow our concierge team to curate a personalised itinerary, from private sightseeing in Athens to bespoke coastal experiences.
• Unwind by the pool or spend the afternoon on one of Vouliagmeni’s beautiful beaches.
• Explore nearby Glyfada, known for its elegant boutiques, lively bars and exceptional dining, only a short ten minute drive from the recommended hotels.
We recommend securing your restaurant bookings in advance for a refined and enjoyable experience.
Will the wedding events be indoors or outdoors?
The church ceremony will take place in a large church in downtown Athens.
The Sofreh Aghd and wedding party at Lake Vouliagmeni will begin at 7pm and will be outdoors. The celebration is planned for the evening when the temperature is cooler.
The White Party on 30 August will be an outdoor daytime event by the water.
How do I get to Athens?
Athens International Airport (ATH) is well connected, with direct or one-stop flights from major cities around the world.
We have guests travelling from Hong Kong, Los Angeles, New York, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Iran and many other locations. Most routes are either direct or require one easy connection via a European or Middle Eastern hub.
Do I need a visa or ETIAS to travel?
Some nationalities may require a visa or, in future, an ETIAS travel authorisation to enter Greece and the Schengen Area. ETIAS has not yet been implemented at the time of writing but may be introduced at the latter end of next year.
Closer to the date, we will share an update if ETIAS or other entry requirements become applicable. If required, we recommend applying well in advance of travel.
Where will the parents of the bride and groom be staying?
The parents of the bride and groom will be staying at Divani Apollon Palace.
Where will the bride and groom be staying?
The bride and groom will be staying at the boutique Azur Hotel with their friends.
All recommended hotels are within a short walk or approximately a five-minute car journey from one another.
If we are not staying at one of the recommended hotels, can we still use their pool?
Divani Apollon Palace and Amarilia Hotel have a strict policy that their pools are only for in-house guests.
If you wish to visit friends at Azur Hotel, there is a pool day-use fee of approximately 25 euros per person, which is subject to availability. As the pool is small and the hotel has over 40 rooms, access cannot be guaranteed.
Please choose your hotel with this in mind and stay where you would most like to spend your time.
